The support on the chassis of the rotary drilling rig (the seat on the upper surface of the inner seat ring and the seat on the lower surface of the support gear ring) must have a flat installation surface and sufficient strength during the installation of Slewing Bearing. In order to prevent deformation of theslewing bearing support, the support should be stress relieved before assembling the slewing bearing. The contact surface and support of the slewing bearing must be cleaned thoroughly during installation.


Before fully tightening the bolts, a gear meshing inspection should be carried out, and the meshing condition should meet the requirements of gear accuracy: that is, the contact spots distributed on the tooth surface of the gear pair after slight braking should not be less than 25% in the direction of tooth height and not less than 30% in the direction of tooth length.


The nuts and bolts connecting the slewing support are made of high-strength materials; Using double nuts for fastening and anti loosening.

Lubrication ofslewing bearings for rotary drilling rigs

① Lubricating the tooth surface of the slewing bearing.

The slewing bearing ring gear has been coated with rust proof oil before leaving the factory, which has a rust proof period of 2-7 months. After the expiration date, rust proof oil should be applied in a timely manner. During use, prevent the rotary support from being directly exposed to sunlight. It is prohibited to directly rinse theslewing bearing with water to prevent it from entering the raceway and to strictly prevent harder foreign objects from approaching or entering the tooth meshing area.


Lubricating the raceway of theslewing bearing.

The raceway should be regularly lubricated with grease according to the working environment. After the first 55 working hours, the raceway should be filled with lubricating grease, and then refilled every 360 working hours thereafter.


The slewing bearing must be filled with grease before and after long-term placement, and must be lifted or stored horizontally. Do not lift or store vertically to avoid deformation.


If using a fixed water spray or steam jet cleaner to clean the rotary drilling rig, care must be taken to ensure that water does not seep into the inside of theslewing bearing, and then theslewing bearing connections must be lubricated.


Add grease while theslewing bearing is slowly rotating. When the lubricating grease overflows from the seal, it indicates that the filling is complete. The overflowing grease will form a thin film, which serves as a seal.

If the construction environment is extremely harsh, the lubrication and grease filling cycle should be shortened.

Inspection of slewing bearing of rotary drilling rig

Regularly check whether the rotating gear ring is damaged or cracked, and whether the meshing tooth surface is gnawed, peeled off, or engaged;


Regularly check the flexibility of rotation; If shaking, impact, or noise are found, the machine should be immediately shut down for inspection and troubleshooting, and if necessary, it should be disassembled for inspection;


Regularly check the integrity of the seal. If any detachment is found, it should be reset in a timely manner. If any damage is found to the sealing tape, it should be replaced in a timely manner.


To ensure the reliability of bolt operation and avoid insufficient pre tightening force of bolts, the pre-tightening torque of bolts should be checked separately after the first 120 hours and 600 hours of rotation support operation. Afterwards, the pre tightening torque should be checked every 1200 hours of operation.
