The slewing drive consists of a worm gear mechanism, metal ball bearing assembly, rubber seals, and a sturdy housing to prevent environmental factors such as dust, water, and debris from damaging the drive's working components.
The working principle of the driven drive is exactly the same as that of a worm gear reducer. When the worm rotates, it converts the rotational motion along its axis into rotational motion along a perpendicular axis. As a result, the driven component—the worm—exhibits a reduction in speed and a proportional increase in torque from the worm wheel. The output speed of the worm wheel depends on the ratio of the threads on the worm to the number of teeth on the worm wheel.
Due to their ability to withstand (and maintain) loads and provide high rotational torque, slewing drives are used in many industries.
